Foreword
In May 2007, the idea was considered to produce a Parish Plan in order to portray an up-to-date picture of our community. As a resident of Langley, I am delighted to have been invited to introduce this plan a true statement of how the local community sees itself developing over the next few years. It reflects the views of all sections of the community; it identifies which features and characteristics local people value; it identifies local problems and opportunities; it spells out how residents want the community to develop in the future; it prepares a plan of action to achieve this vision.By December 2008 the Langley Parish Plan Steering Committee has succeeded in its task. It has consulted, identified and analysed the views, concerns and wishes of the Parishioners and has drawn up clear ideas for action.

The findings show a well-balanced and lively community. In a world of increasing threats to our rural environment and communities, the residents show real appreciation of Langley’s beautiful rural setting and friendly community.
